B.D.   Wallace: B. D. B. D. "Bud" Wallace
  
B.D. (BUD) WALLACE, 87 of Hagerstown passed from this earth July 15, 2010 at Julia Manor Rehabilitation Center. Born to the late Rosco and Mary Lassiter Wallace on the Osage Indian Reservation in Tulsa, Oklahoma on July 1, 1923 and was the youngest of five Wallace children.
Bud served in World War II from 1943 to 1945 as a radio operator and a paratrooper in the European Theater. While with the 101st Airborne, he jumped at Operation Market Garden in Holland and received the Purple Heart in Bastogne, France during the Battle of the Bulge. He completed his military service on the Volga River where he met the Russians Forces at the end of the War. Bud returned to Tulsa to work as Firefighter before beginning his life-long passion as Cosmetologist and a Teacher for nearly six decades. Mr. Wallace founded the Award Beauty Schools in Hagerstown, Frederick and Gettysburg as well as eight Wallace Hair Salons in surrounding areas winning several styling contests for his ground breaking work in the field of Cosmetology. He was active in his community with memberships at the Friendship Lodge #804 AF&AM, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, AMVETS Post 10, the Funkstown Post 0211 and could often be found at the Beaver Creek Country Club enjoying a round of golf.
Mr. Wallace is survived by his wife of 41 years, Beverly J. (Kisiel) Wallace, his dog, g.g., his son, Ronald C. Wallace and wife Antoinette, daughter, Barbara A. Wallace Tipton and husband Lynn and youngest daughter, Pam. He was also survived by grandchildren, T.C. Carpenter, Pam Pyles and Charles Wallace along with great grandchildren Charles and Brianna Carpenter and Charles and Annie Marie Pyles, brother-in-law, Roger W. Kisiel and family, numerous nieces and nephews and friend and neighbors.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth M. Cook Wallace, brothers, Arthur and Charles, sisters, Bertha Kebert and Mae Lyon, grandson, Donald Carpenter and nephew, Robert Wallace.
Bud was an organ donor and will be cremated.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, August 1, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Beaver Creek Country Club, 9535 Mapleville Road, Hagerstown,
Maryland.

The family would like to leave you with the poem that Bud wrote on the wall of the nunnery in Bastogne, France after the costly fighting there.
