ROBERT WAYNE BOWLUS, I, 73, of Boonsboro, Maryland, died on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at the Washington County Hospital.
Born December 15, 1936 in Maryland, he was the son of the late George and Maxine Hutzell Bowlus.
He was preceded in death by his wife of thirty-one years, Joan Louise Bowlus.
He served in the U. S. Army in Korea with the 69th Airborne.
He was retired from East Alcoa. He owned Waynes Overdimensional Escort Service.
He was a member of Boonsboro Family Worship Center, and a long time member of a 12 Step Program.
He is survived by three daughters, Julie Haines, Sondra Hott, and Margreat Mitchell, all of Hedgesville, West Virginia; four sons, Robert W. Bowlus, II of Boonsboro, Maryland, Glen E. Conrad, Jr. of Baltimore, Maryland, David S. Conrad of Frederick, Maryland, and Norman Conrad of Falling Waters, West Virginia; ten grandchildren, Tyler Hott, Elizabeth Hott, Brandon Conrad, Ryan Haines, Emily N. Conrad, Emily C. Conrad, Teri LaClair, Erica Beth Conrad, Heather Mitchell, and Victoria Mitchell; and four great-grandchildren, Ashton Conrad, Dominic Wilt, Ashton Haines, and Audrey Hott, and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown on Sunday, July 25, 2010 at 2:00 p. m. Rev. Jack Payne will officiate.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, July 22, 2010 from 6 to 8 p. m.
