MARTHA JANE BARTLES HOSE, 88, a recent resident of Twin Oaks Assisted Living, Williamsport, Maryland, went to be with the Lord on October 30, 2012.
Born April 10, 1924, in Hagerstown, Maryland, she grew up on a farm in Washington County. She was the daughter of the late Albert E. and Anna E. O. Hamby Bartles.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Francis S. Hose; young son, John Edward Hose; daughters, Joan Marie Hose Torola and Frances Jane Hose Moats; granddaughter, Lori Ann Hose; sister, Mary G. Gehr; and brothers, Willie E. Bartles, Albert H. Bartles, and Clyde R. Bartles, Sr.
She is survived by sons, Larry Hose, and wife Barbara, William Hose, and wife Debra, Dennis Hose and Joanne Hose Nakopoulos, and Phillip Hose, and his wife Vickie, all of the Hagerstown area; fourteen grandchildren and thirty-three great-grandchildren; five sisters, Dorothy C. Lowry, Ruth I. Keyser, Anna Mae Rubeck, Sarah K. Robinson, Susan R. Whittington; and one brother, John E. Bartles, Sr., all also residing in the Hagerstown area.
She was a wonderful, kind and understanding mother, and lifelong homemaker. She was a member of Evangel Baptist Church.
Services will be held at Evangel Baptist Church, 17922 Broadfording Road, Hagerstown on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 1:00 p. m. Pastor Ronald K. Faith will officiate. Burial will follow at the Broadfording Bible Brethren Church Cemetery.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard on Friday from 6 to 8 p. m., and one hour prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Evangel Baptist Church, 17922 Broadfording Road, Hagerstown, Maryland 21740, or American Cancer Society, 1037 Haven Road, Hagerstown, Maryland 21742.
